Initiative
Earlier this year at TWO-N, I built a new product called Fame & Flow for the client Initiative. This web application allows the user to select their country and sector of business, as well as competing brands and audiences. Once selected, they have a chance to review their selections on a summary page before progressing to the tracking page. The tracking pages contains three different views; a single radar chart, small multiple radar charts, and bar charts. These charts compare 8 metrics defined by Initiative and allow the user to get a more detailed sense of their competitors and how they relate to certain audiences.
Using React, Redux, and Next.js, I built a modular and scalable web application to host these pages! I coded custom D3.js radar charts that visualized metrics across multiple dimensions. These charts can be manipulated with React sliders, dropdowns, and buttons on the page. To handle these interactions, I implemented svg transitions and CSS animations to enhance the clarity and impact of the relationship between the visualization and the React inputs. The product has enabled users to gain useful insights on their brand and their competitors.
This project was so much fun to work on, because it was complex, challenging, and tested my D3/React skills. One new thing I learned was how to use a Voronoi algorithm to find the closest point to the mouse and highlight it's area on the radar chart!
Testimonial - Natalie Erdem - TWO-N Business Manager
”Parker was an absolute pleasure to work with. She consistently brought a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new challenges. Her ability to listen actively, stay focused on tasks, and maintain dedication to her work was truly impressive. Whether working within a team or independently, Parker excelled and adapted seamlessly to the needs of our team. She’s highly talented, intelligent, and driven. As a manager, I found her initiative and ability to work autonomously to be invaluable—she required little oversight but was always receptive to direction when provided. Any team would be fortunate to have her”
